Agriculture is the backbone of Malaysia’s economic system, providing not only food and raw material but also employment opportunities.  Nowadays, the cultivation of food globally is imbued with the pressing need to make agriculture ecologically sound, productive, economically viable, and socially desirable, with emphasis on transformational innovation, technologies and collaboration. ​

The participation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries Malaysia (MOA) in the “Sustainable Agriculture” segment of Malaysia Pavilion’s activities at Expo 2020 Dubai is centered on the concept of “Our Food, Our Future”. MOA at Expo 2020 Dubai is highlighting Malaysia’s stance on sustainable agriculture and the development of sustainable farming, the adequacy of food production from these sustainable systems, fruit production from the tropical land and profitable opportunities in the agriculture industry. ​

WHAT TO EXPECT :

The week’s specialised programme on agriculture provides an insight into the Malaysian agriculture and food industries, as well as its current and ongoing efforts using science and technology to safeguard sustainability in the agriculture ecosystems.

Several Malaysian participating companies include MSD Innovation Sdn Bhd, Unique Biotech Sdn Bhd, Free the Seed, Golden Storage Sdn Bhd and MHC Coldstorage Sdn Bhd. These companies comprise of different sectors involving smart farming, IoT, biotech farming, innovative biodegradable products and frozen seafood, which intend to establish trade collaborations and export their products.
